Abstract Submission Guidelines

All abstracts must be in English and must be submitted online through the abstract submission system.

Title: Please capitalize the abstract title., and avoid abbreviations in the title (except scientific terms).

Authors: Include the author(s’) name(s) (full first name, family name) and place of work (institution, city, country), and e-mail address of the corresponding author.
The name of the presenting author should appear first on the list of authors.

Preferred format of presentation: Poster, Oral/Poster

Topic: Abstracts should be allocated to a specific topic, according to the following list:
- Deciphering of molecular mechanisms of eukaryotic cells with yeast
- Yeast screens
- Metabolism and metabolomics
- Yeasts as molecular factories
- Fermentation, food and beverages
- Yeast in population and evolution models
- Humanized yeast in health research

Body of the abstract: The body of the abstract should not exceed 300 words. The following format is recommended: Introduction - brief and informative, defining the purpose of the study; Methods - a concise description of the research methodology; Results - a description of the main results (Do not use figures, graphs, or tables in the abstract). The data provided should be sufficient to permit peer review of the abstract; Conclusion - provide a summary and relevance of the main findings.
Up to 3 references are acceptable.


Rules for submission

• The abstracts must be submitted and presented in English. It is strongly recommended that the abstract be edited for English composition, grammar, and style before submission. The presenting author is responsible for ensuring that all co-authors are aware of and accept the content of the abstract before submission.

• One submission per presenting author only, please.

• The presenting author is expected to register for the conference before the Early Bird deadline.

• Only abstracts of authors who have paid their registration fees will be scheduled for presentation.

• Abstracts will be distributed among the ISSY Committee members for review. The Committee reserves the right to refuse submissions if the instructions are not followed and based on the number, theme, and quality of submissions.

• Notification of acceptance or rejection by the Scientific Committee will be sent by e-mail to the first author. Detailed information about the form of presentation (oral or poster) for which the abstract was accepted, guidelines and recommendations for each abstract type as well as time allotment, date, hour, and venue will be sent in due time to registered first authors.


Abstract template

Poster Dimensions: The maximum size of your poster should be equivalent to A0 format: in millimeters, 1189 mm (height) × 841 mm (width); in inches, 33,11" x 46,81"

All Posters should be posted in the Poster Hall on the first day of the conference. Presenting Authors should be present in the poster room for the session on the day of their scheduled presentation. All posters will be evaluated by the Poster Award Committee to determine the Best Poster Award winner.
 

Oral presentation Guidelines

Length and Format of Presentation
The time for oral presenters will be: for a lengthier presentation, 15 minutes of talk plus 5 minutes for questions and answers with the audience; for a shorter presentation, it will be 8 plus 2 minutes, respectively. If the presentation exceeds the time limit, the session chair may shorten the question-and-answer period following the presentation. Please keep the length of your presentation such as to allow the audience to ask questions.

Content of Slides
Keep in mind the 1 slide per minute is optimal for the oral presentation. You may choose to use more than optimal number of slides, but please be sure to complete your presentation within the allocated time (15 or 8 minutes). The content slides should give an overview of the research with conclusions and future research direction.

Format of Slides
Only MS PowerPoint PPT / PPTX files and PDF files will be supported. Please ensure that all presentations are in the supported format. High-definition (HD) projectors will be used for all sessions. Please apply standard formatting when preparing your slides (aspect ratio 16:9; resolution 1920×1080). MAC users can export their presentations to PowerPoint. The minimal font size for the presentation should be 16 points.

Presentation Submission
It is recommended that you send files in the original PPT/PPTX or PDF format through the conference e-mail ISSY38@whynottravel.pl. In case of problems are encountered when sending a presentation, speakers must bring their presentation on a portable USB drive to the registration desk and upload it during registration. The latest available time to load the presentation will be in the morning on the day of the appropriate session.
